or How we went to the shelter and chose our dog
We first noticed her when we were walking around the shelter as we oohed and aahed over the dogs.
Living in an apartment, we knew what we wanted. Just a small dog — easy to care for was what we were looking for. One little guy caught our eye as he stood forlornly at the gate of his kennel. But a sign on his door though said that he wasn’t ready to be adopted. Then there were the barkers and the indifferent ones.
Then we saw her.
